The great Palace Pier was opened in 1899 after 8 years of engineering and construction of the great Pier.
When the Palace Pier was constructed
The first piece of construction on the Palace Pier in Brighton began way back in 1891 and it took 7 years to build at a cost of around бё137,00
Palace Pier Concert Hall
The Palace Pier Concert Hall was opened two years later in 1901 and was later turned into a theatre, the theatre was removed in 1986 on the perceptive that it would be re-built, unfortunately this has never happened.
Pier Entertainment
Although the theatre has been removed and never replaced their is still plenty of family entertainment on offer with the likes of log flumes, children's rides, amusement arcade, thrill rides and roller coasters.

The closest hotels Brighton to the palace pier is the UMI Hotel, it is situated about 0.3 miles from the pier and is roughly a 5 minute walk from the pier the hotel.
Ramada Jarvis Hotels Brighton
The Ramada Jarvis Hotels Brighton is situated 0.9 miles from the pier and is roughly a 17 minute walk from the Palace Pier, the grand Victorian building was built way back in 1864 and sits on a perfect spot on the shore. not the first built hotels Brighton but not that far off either.
The Palace Fire
In February 2003 the Palace pier suffered at the hands of a large fire and was very lucky to escape with minimum damage, the pier was opened for business the next day.
A long history to continue. The pier is now 110 years old and most of the Brighton hotels are even older, they lived longer than the most of us will, they have also had their ups and downs in their long history but with the credit crunch and rising costs for holidaying in Europe becoming more and more of stumbling block for flying abroad I think the Palace pier and the historic hotels in Brighton have an even longer future ahead of it.
